That's what the carpet bomb looks like when you drop it. The one on the left is the same bomb but it hasn't been dropped yet. But it will, it will.

At first, I thought it was a PR pic, but after seeing the posts above. Tanks shouldn't be together like that. Makes them an easy target from any direction.:laugh:

They seem to provide drag, allowing the aircraft to be further away when it detonates, and to give the dumb-bomb a more predictable/accurate glide slope.
But that's just my best guess, don't take my word for it.

Maybe they had problems with the GPS and didn´t know whether they should go left or right around the square.
Must agree that the graphics look awesome.
