Steels ok when you manage to actually set the rocket off and everyone on the E point gets sucked in lol, or jumps into the massive pit trying to escape

I think it is down to the GFX settings. A higher setting would show the engy being blown into smaller bloddier pieces

Nah I believe that that happens on all settings when characters have just exploded. Once I got a really cool one of an engineer all blotchy but still "joined together" it was :awes
