multi player crash and patch problems

hi there,

can anyone please help?

just bought bf2 and tried to play online but game crashes when it tries to connect to a server (after i've selected one from the list with a map).

so i tried to install a patch (v 1.4) which i thought might correct this issue but an error message keeps saying "unable to find bf2 folder" and stops installation.

these issues are driving me mad.

any help gratefully accepted.

the patch is 1.41. Download it from EA

It sounds like your registry is missing some bf2 stuff.
I would do a manual uninstall and re-install.
Manual uninstall bf2
Install bf2
Patch to 1.41
Install punkbuster services
Manually update punkbuster
