Correct order for installing BF2142

Since puchasing a new hard drive and reinstalling all the software i've been having trouble with battlefield 2142 crashing to the desktop, something i've never had before.

I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling it, therefor i was wondering what is the correct order for installing BF2142, northern strike and patch 1.50. For example previously i would have installed game, applied 1.40 patch, installed northern strike then reapplied 1.40.

Also if anyone has any thoughts on the crashes to desktop i'll be interested to hear.

It depends when it crashes to desktop, usually deleting the battlefield 2142 folder in Documents will fix the most common reason for ctd.
Check the Sticky in BF2 Support - Tech FAQ, it's practically the same game as 2142 and has the same reasons for ctd.

Re-install in this order:
Manual uninstall2142
Install bf2142
Patch to 1.4
Install NS
Patch to 1.4
Patch to 1.5 with the incremental
Install punkbuster services
Manually update punkbuster
