YEP 100% Agree with this idea. Trust me I've had this idea loooong time ago man. But no matter what, unless EA/DICE is gonna make like another million dollars, they aint gonna release another patch.

I've also wanted an AA kit, engineers having tripmines (not claymores) on I/O instead of AT mines.

I've had MANY ideas but they aint gonna happen. We can just dream that we're in that virtual map owning with jeeps and transport choppers.

      Re: I/O with Cars Only?

I've been playing on a light vehicles only server and it was great fun.

It takes away most of the stupid marathon running across the map but makes the fast movement quite risky at the same time because AT's and mines are a very frequent classes on such a server

Nevertheless you will find the occasional cal.50 camper somerwhere on the map but since the light vehicles are very easy to destroy, you'll find a way to do it.

Admins are very important to have the players follow the rules and not jump in a tank or attack chopper.

For IO lovers (like me) it's a very nice change to the standard IO play and it adds a new aspect.

AND it might even bring me back to the usual vehicle server. Allthough I would have to have some vehicle training before I jump on some of these.

We had a lengthy discuission among our admins before hand and decided if some servers can get away the infantry 7 transport rules, but we felt that this was just a variation of the standard Inf. only settings, assisting with transport and adding an element to the game. So rather than it being a restricted vehicle server, it's an enhanced Infantry server.

We also noted that there are pleanty of other server have been oppeating for long periods, that enforce more ridiculous rules. We have seen loads of servers with our of control admins, rules that ban people based on ranks, restricting the use of certain weapons/kits, restricting Claymores/c4, restricting flag captures and my personal favourite server rule, from a clan called =AAC= , "no commanding except for AAC members who are AFK". If the kids who administrate these servers are left to get on with things blaitantly not giving two hoots about the ROE, then we should be fine running "enhanced" infantry only. Our rules are in the name of gameplay and not to artificially bloat scores or to obscure gameplay.

You also have to take into account that EAs ROE seem to have been flushed down the toilet withthe collapse of BF2Rankedservers.com and the lack of inteest in people who making serious violations of the ROE and the EA terms of service, like those who hack the ranked system.

If you havent noticed the general decline of the community and the lack of support from EA then go you, where can I get a pair of those rose tinted specs?

Again, if anyone is interested in trying this mode of play our server runs the settings EVERY sunday. Server fills up about 5pm /6pm. Most people respect the rules and anyone who doesn't is kicked immidiately.

As long as you don't get caught, I'm sure you'll be fine, but if EA notices, you might find yourself getting warned by your game server host, or worse-case scenario, you'll find your server won't start because the IP could be delisted. If you think it's worth risking, more power to you.

As I said, if EA were efficient enough to do that, I'm pretty sure our server would be way down the list of warning priorities. To be fair, I think if they had the resources and incentive to enforce their ROE (which is officially dead) and their Terms Of Service, there wouldn't be many public ranked servers left.

I suggest you save your shock tactics for the naive who still believe in EA or the 12 year old admins that enforce that kick because "they feel like it"! As long as we are paying for their ranked servers they are happy to let people do what ever the hell they want while they do nothing to improve or maintain the community and rake in the cash from those still stupid enough to purchase ranked servers.

If EA can't detect and do anything about the hackers who spoof PID's, blatant stat padders and persistent cheats, how likely are they to be bothered trying to deal with our server?

Just to put it into context, we play infantry only rules with transport vehicles allowed one night a week to have a variation on that standard medic/karkand fest of standard infantry only and so that different maps can be played that are unplayable without transport (such as Wake). Hardly crime of the century when we've been buying ranked servers since 2005 with no blemishes on our gaming integrity.
