Problem when changing the controls

hi,
I bought a vista home premium laptop 3GB ram, AMD turion 64.... had some problems with bf2 and punkbuster but I managed to solve them all. I can play the game now but I cant change the controls. When going to controls menu and clicking on the secondary field, the game freezes for 2-3 sec and then goes back to normal but without any changes. Is there anyway to fix that? Or is there a file that contains all the controls so I can possibly just put the new controls in the file.

You could try resetting the controls by pressing the reset button on the control setup screen.
You could edit/delete the controls.con file in Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001?\controls.con.
Open and edit .con files using notepad.
