What is it with the pride that gamers have? Are those numbers really the accurate measurement to how big their E-peen is? They are just frikin stats. For them to not be updated, is it really that outrageous to be denied that growth? If that is the case, then i have to admire how magnificent the bastards of EA are at having a stat system in place to make ego stroking and the size comparing so convenient while drawing players in to play their games.

People don't play for fun anymore these days... </rant>

I dont play games without stats, I like the feeling of getting something out of what I spend hundreds of hours doing. Stats for life :salute:

Yeah, those stats really go along way, don't they? Sounds like you need something more in your life. Maybe Jesus or two bi-sexual Brazilian hookers.

All of those numbers, ribbons, badges, and whatever else are all empty achievements. You should play a game for enjoyment, not because success in it is your life's only accomplishment.

But Aak, some people enjoy collecting stats and working towards them (Me being one of those people). I know you created a map, but that doesn't give you the power to tell people what they enjoy

This has nothing to do with Wake at all. I've always looked down on stats.

I do have the power of suggestion. Are you telling me you wouldn't have sex with two bi-sexual Brazilian chicks instead of ranking up?

If you don't have a decent response, then please be quiet. Cheers :)

Yeah. Humans are a prideful bunch aren't they? They like collecting (hoarding?) trophies, experiences, dogtags, medals and badges, high scores, or whatever "things" that represents an achievment so they can share them with others in their forum signatures, youTube videos, xfire screenshots, word from mouth, etc. They start threads to share stories of their proud moments of their high Ks or their long string of knifekills without deaths, blowing up an APC full of people, or whatever. They choose to increase difficulty of their gaming (ie not use voss or snipe really far away) to feel even greater amount of gratification from an achievement. It seems to have gotten to the point for some people that it has become their only definition of fun.

Can anyone lose in the online, stat tracked game but still say they had fun thesedays?

Stereotyping me as some person who does nothing but look at stats all day does not make you look smart. I have a perfectly normal life, and I love tracking my stats, very much so. I also enjoy the games myself as well, they both go hand in hand for me. If you dont like stats, dont look at them and just have fun, if you do then great, there is no loss in a game having stats for people like you and is a plus for us, people better get used to it because companies know it keeps people.

I'm a bit gutted stats still ain't working... all I've played today on ranked servers is shingle and I've had some bitchin' rounds (nothing less than 10-1 K/D).... me hopes it catches up sometime.

I play for fun, but stats are nice - always good to get a sort of read on how you're doing lately and I'd happily consider it an extra reason to keep me interested in the game.

I enjoy stats as well... I am a goal oriented person. I set myself a goal, then have fun going toward it :) It also encourages me to play as different classes, try out different vehicles and to think hard about the best strategy toward an award.

Who would have guessed that after going for that stupid air transport medal twice I would have fallen in love with it and decided to go for the leaderboards xD Same thing with the hachimoto, I think I am around #200 in the world with it right now. I dunno. Play to have fun. If stats are fun for you, then play for stats :)
