do you have xfire?, if so you can use the beta recorder, wich is free and records unlimited timespan. also the files are much smaller

do certain versions of fraps actually make your game lag more or less? or are the only differences the menu and asthetics?

No, Xfire beta recorder, makes me lag more than regular fraps.

and Field, its basically a problem with Windows Vista Service Pack 1 and Fraps, its not fraps itself, i can record just fine with it, but 2.9.5 has the fix for the vista service pack 1 problem.

His problem is Pentium D 805 and Dell commercial desktop that forbids him from tinkering. What he needs to do is either tolerate his current machine until he has the money to replace them all, or check whether if it's BTX, Micro ATX or ATX and buy some cheap motherboard and an E2160.

First of all, "he" in my post means Field, not you. He has a Dell computer with Pentium D 805 and that continues to be the source of his problems. I don't understand what you're angry about. Since the post is reply to YOU, "HE" apparently designates someone other than YOU AND ME. I don't see any ambiguity on context in my previous post.

And second, you'd better check your computer to see whether it takes BTX, micro ATX or ATX board. I guess it takes micro ATX since mine also takes it. Be sure about that just in case you want to tinker it in the future.

BTW I don't understand anything about duel cord. Having heard about duel gun, duel sword and duel dagger, but never heard of duel cord.

Anyway, since you're running an outdated computer (like I am) and still need to do some video editing (which I just start to learn), you have no choice but to go with C2D, C2Q or AMD Phenom. I gave up the idea of tinkering my old HP Media Center and will reduce it to TV/PVR (which is its original purpose) after my new rig is up and running (designed from ground up to be total gaming rig that will burn through my wallet). You probably have only 1/3 to 1/2 of affordability of mine, so prudent expenditure is a must in your case. Shot me a message when you want to buy something but not sure whether it will be up to your expectation or not.

my expetations:

i want a computer that can run this game on low settings on ANY size server i like at a solid 60-70fps. thats it. i figure that wouldnt cost thaaat much but then..

well anyways i wont have the money for it in a while at least a few months i dont know when im going to get a job and im probly going to have to move out and get an apartment and all of that $$$ so yeah i gotta treat my Dell well for a while longer

i did request backup disks and i reinstalled the OS i got practically nothing on my hard disk except for this game and DoW Soulstorm and then i just browse the net and stuff and i got this CCleaner utility and free AVG antivirus instead of McAffee that i had. THe game does run noticably smoother but still seeing that i dont have a life and i play this game quite a bit i would like it to run like butter. you understand.
