Hi,

I met this guy on BF2 today by the name of "---REMOVED---", he seemed really good (89 kills to 11 deaths) so asked about joining my clan, and added him to MSN.

However, upon checking his stats on BF2Player.com:

---REMOVED---

It seems he has amassed 221,294 global points in about 80 hours - which works out at 46 pts per minute - clearly impossible!

Is this a known bug? That EA doesn't record the hours correctly. As I see this is the case for a lot of the top players on the leaderboard.

I will confront him about it, as I dont want a possible cheat in my clan, but I want to get my facts straight first as he will probably deny it.

What do you guys think? :)

I always go here for looking up stats, much more accurate.
If hes a hacker or not im not sure.. all his stats seem legit except (like u said) his SPM, i suggest playing a few rounds with him and see if its not just a bug in his stats.

It looks to me like the account has been reset, and his rank and global score have been reinstated because he appealed to EA.
He was probably reset because someone hacked his account and played on a dodgy server, but you never know. He could've been reset for doing something naughty.

Just ask him..

The fact that you are coming here and asking this question begs a larger question: Do you trust him? Since you are coming here to ask that question, you obviously do not trust him. This is no way to begin a new relationship. So, I wouldn't let him in at this point, or I would ignore this thread and come to your own conclusion, not one from the general public. If you want to take the chance, take the chance. If you can't ask direct questions and trust you are getting direct answers and don't trust the answers from your current clan members, then I'd say there are larger issues in play here...

No I dont trust him as I only just met him today and spoke to him for a few minutes hence why I created this thread to enquire what people thought was wrong with the stats.

just cause he has a very good kill death doesn't mean he stat padds. Even if he did it would be a longer time stat padding gets points but max 400 a round

At this point his stats means absolutely nothing. It is all jacked up because of the reset.

Id just like to clarify that I have spoken to and watched the person who I initially suspected of possible cheating, and I can confirm he DOES NOT CHEAT OR STATS PAD - hes just v. good!

I'll give everyone a tip I learned several years ago.

When I was a level 4 (out of 5) administrator on a pretty popular RTCW: Enemy Territory network, I did a lot of anti-cheat work. In coming to our conclusions, we would use demo recordings and the statistics about hit percentages (Headshot numbers primarily) and other statistics which can be indicative of hacking. Over time, I came to establish the magic percentage for aimbotting - 20% for non-snipers. Upon viewing extremely good players, we found their HS% was only approximately 18% and usually no higher, so anything greater than that was usually an indicator of something funny going on.

One day, my superior pointed a user out to me and asked, "Does this guy hack?" and gave me a link to the stats. I looked at it and the person had a 25% headshot ratio with a Sten, and believe me, that was pretty high. I asked if there were any demos, and he said there weren't any, so I made the determination after talking with a few of the other level 4s that this person was most likely a hacker.

We were oh so wrong. In reality, that player was another one of our level 5s who would intentionally only take shots that he knew would be headshots (and mind you, all of our level 5s were incredibly good at Wolf: ET, so he had a pretty decent KDR). Sufficed to say, we were a bit humiliated.



In conclusion, yes, stats can probably be used to detect stat padders (but you have to watch out for the chopper gunners who can rack up 300+ best round score), but I wouldn't use them for anything further than that.

Now that is a good test to put your admin's through, more server's should start to do that to see how good the admin's are.
