why bother w/ the dot? if you're close enough to knife someone, you have a pretty large target. it's just a matter of making sure that you're timing is correct. i for one would not want any spots on my monitor. as it is, my 3 y/o took a pen to it once & not all marks came out. just practice, don't add some extra crosshairs or dots.

Yeah, it could be a disaster if those marks don't wash off of an LCD monitor. And you won't win against Moose in a knife fight anyways.

if your any good wit programing you can make a program which is just like Teamspeak over lay but has crosshair. i made one with the time and some other sh*t on it. Or you could just tie a piece of string to ur monitor

lol just go into an empty server with an assault rifle , get ur scope up and pencil in over ther aiming dot this is helpful in many situations not least the knife it's great for when you get emped and setting orders when you have no crosshair liek on a ladder or in an fav for exaple

I remember drawing a dot on the screen in order to pwn with the AWP in CS:S - people always thought u were cheating when getting HS while zoomed out :)

a circle would be alittle less disracting and won't get in the way of your normal gun crosshair. Sniping with a smudge on your screen is no fun

lol do what i do: play with no crosshairs at all, now thats a challenge for sniping but it works, it makes you suck in the beginning but in the end you know where you should shoot.

I always bring my pilum to a knife fight so look out if that little dot in the middle of your screen starts to get bigger.

just keep knifing. eventually you'll know where to place enemies on your screen. :)

Using no crosshair makes your aim twice as good. It's VERY difficult to get use to though, as I'm use to shooting and seeing the crosshair move from recoil and deviation and not just seeing bullets. But it will only help you in the long run if you practice enough with it.

                          Re: is this cheating

I dunno. Crosshair or not, there always feels like there's something fishy in the way hits are calculated. Should I be aiming ahead of them or behind them while they're moving because it seems like even if they're completely stationary, I end up having to swing more than one time.

I've read that the knife, too, is like a gun, but its 'bullet' dies far sooner and the 'bullet' doesn't actually come out upon clicking fire. So a moment after firing, the projectile killzone comes out and is apparently judged by the same terms as a firearm.

I guess one thing to sort of equate it to, for the sake of explaining what I'm trying to explain in terms of the game's "physics" is when you throw a grenade, the distance and direction of it is influenced by your movement and the target's movement.

But that's probably not all. What about lag compensation? My knifing is definitely not 5/5 and probably barely 2/5 when I am getting shot at.

The knife's kill zone moves with you as you rotate. How long it lasts I have no idea.

That would be considered a D3D Hack. Even if it doesn't inject into the BF2 process. D3D combines all RenderTargets (what you see) when it draws to a device. So the PBSS would pick it up.

Flat out: It is hacking if you make the game draw the cross hair.

I should go ahead and mark a second dot in place of the rorsch's real point of fire.:p That way I wont be distracted by the fake crosshairs when zoomed in.
