if i see some little area clustered with apms ill usually just hang back and let all the rushtards go in there and give me free revive points. i dont get blown up by apms a huge amount i dont think caus i generally favor shooting enemies over taking flags.

Which is ironic, since often times I come up to a mine, crouch, and THEN it blows up.

oh yes that happend to me exactly 460 times... I see them... and BOOM :dead: hehehe oh sheit.. those things again.

Thants why I (exept for the 460 times) always go prone when I'm going around a corner, but you can't avoid them all.

Lame tactic is to place them in a radius around a spawnpoint, offcourse I've never done that but the rumour goes

I wouldn't advise going prone around EVERY corner, but there are exceptions. Of course certain places are almost guaranteed to have an APM waiting, such as the big wall between Toll and Central Camp on Gib, the stairs to the EU main on Cerbere, etc. In such cases, when those flags are the 'front lines' flags, then crouching (NOT proning...proning is way too slow for actually moving somewhere and gives you zero mobility should you come under fire) is a good idea. Also if I just happened to kill an enemy recon and I'm walking around where he was or if it was his base and I'm nearing the flag, I always crouch for good measure. The only times I die on predictably-placed APMs are if I happen to be running from something else (nades, walker, orbital strike), or when someone else sets them off as I go by.

But hidden APMs are always fun. You'll always get a kill from a 'predictable' APM, since someone is bound to go walking in front of it without thinking, but I always enjoy getting kills from my more strategically placed APMs because they're usually players that are smarter/more cunning as they're avoiding the front lines cluster****.

• Crouching/crawling will not trigger them
• Shooting them with the Zeller (unlockable sniper rifle)
• Use the AE defuser (engineer unlock)

Every single one of you defusing noobs forgets that the RDX Shotgun takes them out too MMB and RDX work as well.

MMB defuses EVERYTHING. APMs, RDX and Motion Mines. Thats why I pack it when titan attacking... You chuck it into a corridor, then charge into a very confused recon ("Why isn't the d*** RDX blowing up???")

yeah the Rdx shotty is usefull for boarding the titan like you see an apm on top of the vent and your instinct just tells you hey shoot 2 other balls down there to check for the rdx camper. I did it many times and mostly the campers didnt even notice their rdx was gone so they just sat there.

I hang back and let noobs run into them, sometimes I hit the ones around corners and stuff usually. Good APMs are hard to come by, most recons just lay them around the spots people go just to get kills, they don't bother putting them on the flags and around important areas.

feh, i could had sworn there is already a thread on something like this floating around. Search function ftl. Put them in spots and watch over them. the ones that run gets blown up while you shoot the ones that try to crawl past them.

yeah i had no idea that the mine bait could do all that. meh wheres my assault rifle lol.

but yeah ill tend to get blown up by apms a bit more when im tired and starting to play stupid usually ill start being more impatient and rush into areas. sometimes though youll get killed by coming across some recon that looks all stupid and hes sniping and you think he is an easy defib/knife kill but then when you go to dive at him and kill him you find hes proned on top of an apm and its hidden in his body LOL
