so I quit bf2 a few months ago, I got rly mad in pubs and just said "its enough"


I miss the game and I wanna come back and have a few good games with some of the people I know here

I don't wanna go back into it full time, when I stopped playing, it kinda made me realize how much time I wasted on this game so yea.....:shakehead:


is it worth it?

whats the atmosphere like in pubs these days for you old school players?

I don't see how BFH could replace BF2 so I wanna get some more fun out of it while its still alive coz I cant see my self enjoying BFH as much as I enjoyed BF2

hehe I really need to do that, would take me all day to sort though it thou :p

anyways back ontopic, predragjanjic, I can understand how you feel cos I felt the same thing like 2 years or so ago about BF2.

I found the solution was play mods since the players who play mods seem to be much better to play with, there is the odd crappy player in there but its nothing like vbf2 where the main aim I always feel when playing it is to make your enemys and your team mates life as bad as possible for your own enjoymant hehe, not always the case but when players start C4ing your jet cos you got there first etc it gets a little pissing off :p

Now I'm not going to say "you should play project reality" cos its probably not for you, thou I would still say you should give it a try. How ever the big thing is that there are many other real good mods out there, POE2, FH2, AI-X, USI etc are all really excellent mods that are in most cases much better than vbf2 in many different ways, one of them being that the small community of players that play these mods are a bunch of really cool guys for the most part.

give it a go see what you think about them, I mean what have you got to loose from it, a few hrs of download time and trying them out?

your going to enjoy coming back, i've noticed in the past few weeks a very sharp increase in players using commander hacks and crashing servers on purpose when things dont go there way.
Of course you'll get the usual hack accusations but i guess that has always been normal. anyways there's still a few decent servers out there...

Yes i also say Download Project reality. Ive been in the same spot as you. I hated the way ppl in pubs wernt matrue, had bots, cheated, and how unrealistic it was. Until 2 years after i left i was introduced to project reality and i actually love the mature atmostphere full of teamwork and hours of fun gameplay.

Recently I been playing a tonne of poe2 again, the latest issue is just brilliant everyone should try it.

I love their system of stopping vehicle waste, in some ways i prefer it to PRs.

POE2 remakes BF2 while keeping the fast arcade gameplay. I love the mod for its infantry, armor and heli aspect. All of these require the player to completely ditch BF2 concept. Armor being the hardest. Unfortunately they are still unable to solve BF2s worst aspect, heatseeking homing missiles. There are certain inbalances in air to air, mainly stemmed from the missiles unreliability to be predictable in its hits or misses. Anyone disliking BF2 air to ground aspect needs to have a look at POE2 as it has pretty much balaned it out.

But still, I wouldnt advise POE2 to heli or jet wh0res. The first thing is- theres no competition. Once youve thrown a couple of dozen of hours into the game, and yo were great in BF2 air, youre dominating in POE2. When it comes to jets, that is. I spent quite some time in WattWuermer server and I was literally the "King of the skies", only time I got shot down, was by lucky lock ons and STA 1 shot 1 kill missiles from the MTBL. Theyve done some tweaking, and the unreliability of flares in POE2 means that if you get locked on to with the long range missiles, its game over in most cases. Even then, I just adapted to it (admittedly it took me quite some time) and the rest is history, for the competition, that is.

When it comes to helos, its significantly harder for a BF2 pilot to adapt. Mainly because helos in POE2 are significantly harder to use due to their differences in every possible aspect. And Im not talking about the Cobra vs Havoc kind of difference. It goes way beyond that. I believe that if a BF2 chopper pilot goes to POE2, apart from using the EuroCopter (which flies like a Havoc actually, almost spot on), when it comes to maneuverability and armament use, the pilot has to put in a TON load of hours to become good at the trade. Thing is, with the lack of servers, and same names on every server, pilot might get bored from it.

Even then, POE2 is basically a "fixed BF2" and does what no other mod did. It took BF2, and fixed all of its aspects, while maintaining the arcade gameplay. It fixed infantry, it fixed ground to air and vice versa and it added a lot of different vehicles. Still, it takes quite some time to adapt to the changes implemented, and its my firm belief that this is what ultimately caused the mod to go down.
