The guys over at Valve gave each of us two packs of the new Team Fortress 2 trading cards. They never did mention when they are going on sale.

Would be awesome. Although translating a FPS into a card battle game seems extremely difficult. I vote its simply trading cards so that they spend all resources on new achievements and weapons.

I think they are just postcard thingys?

I never really got into battle cards. I had pokemon cards, but I don't think I ever played a single battle with them.
