One question, how you are gonna get the petition to DICE?

But about helping out, im willing to help... And i think so is other guys/girls too here in TGN, although some of them doesn't even have a console/the game...

Like with the Cod4 co-op petition... Lot of people signed up although they didn't play cod4 on the console(like me).. :salute:

Right, I remember posting something on the COD4 forums about that to promote it and so I signed it myself, but I'm hoping if I can start one then I'm pretty convinced that EA will listen no matter what, because they have been saying something similar along the lines of "We have listened to our customers and we will continue to listen to them." So if we get enough supporters then EA will have to AT LEAST consider it...

That's not a direct quote by the way... lol

But yeah, a few examples just for BF: BC is when they decided to add in Conquest mode, change the fact that all weapons will be free, and in one of the developer interviews, they even said that they thought about doing another futuristic game but bf 2142 was less popular and most people that were big battlefield fans did not care for it and thought that it... well, sucked. :)

I have to say, it was ok - a different game altogether but still fun.

But if a petition is what it takes to get their attention, I don't see any problem on attempting to start one as long as we back it up and promote it everywhere. For example, put it in your sig... Again, I'm not positive on how to start one and there will definently be challenges, but even if we cannot get it to DICE, they will find out if there are enough people to where the entire community is buzzing about it. But like the COD4 one, that was really good for console players to get involved even there are still people signing it and last time I looked there was almost ten thousand signatures??? I think, not sure though. But you never know, anything could happen.

If it comes to that point, i can "promote" the petition in few Finnish forums... And in EA's official forums...

So we should get atleast few more names to the list...

I get what your saying about everything blowing up, and im sure (i HOPE) EA/Dice have thought of that.

I also think the snipers bomb-target thing looks a little easy to use, i hope it doesn't mean tanks will be rendered useless. I cant see what defense tanks have against it, or am i just missing something?

I was thinking about the laser designator...

And these were the questions what came to my mind...

If you get shot when guiding the missle, does the missle dissapear?

How many times per round you can paint targets(meaning how many shots you have and what's the reload time)?

And lastly, when do you unlock it?

The first 2 would be a good way to balance the thing out... I mean, make the missle dissappear if you get shot while guiding the missle, and long reload time...

And what comes to tanks defense against it... I can think one thing right now... Out run that thing... It depends a lot about the distance you can steer it after release. And how's the controlling...

Re: What is your opinion on this?

Yea i think i saw in a video that a tank gets a warning tone when a missile is inbound, so hopefully you can move quicker than the missile can steer. I remember in one of the videos he said "get the sniper before he gets you" when talking about the designator, so theres a good chance that killing him may cancel the bombing.

I think the limit thing might work, or maybe just make it so that it has an uber long recharge or something.

                I don't know, i guess we'll see.

Re: What is your opinion on this?

The long recharge time would be great in a way... It would make the use of the designator more tactical...

One thing i would like to see in the game... Ability to request air-support.. Meaning you could set up an request(like in bf2/142 press T to place attack here command etc) for an air support. Then friendlies in helos would see that request and would get a point or two for responding to the thing...

Like in World in Conflict, you can set up requests for various things(AA, different bombs, armor etc), and you can respond to them by clicking the request image, what would show up for everyone...

I really doubt that we will see it in BF:BC, but it would be awesome...

Yah, I was hoping at least some people would think about it and I guess we'll just have to wait and experience it first hand and if infantry only is not included as a multiplayer option then WE ARE going to do THIS THING. lol :)

Yeah, I have thought about it before and StoneCold313 and I have discussed it before on one of the Bad Company threads sometime before. We were talking about how balenced the game could be, because everyone says it is super balanced, but from an outsider's point of view, the tank looks rather pointless and weak, like you mentioned...

I've said this before, but like the specialists class, together with the anti-tank can easily take out a tank from around a building... Then there is the laser designator which can take out tanks from far away as long as you keep them marked for like 5 or 6 seconds, which is barely anytime at all considering that if snipers are rarely visible and far away - a tank will have a hard time finding them before the missile reaches them. :|:

Of course, a tank can roll through pretty much anything and blast away walls, but if you cannot see the enemy on the other side of a house then how balenced is that? Doesn't sound like it, but it might very well be extrememly even gameplay for both teams. Right now though, it's hard to tell how all of it will work. But it's fun thinking of all the possibilities... Just a few more days until the demo and then we'll really find out!

lol, Seems like we cannot help speculating constantly... haha

Well, if it were up to me i'd say the missile wouldn't dissappear if you were shot, because I personally love realism and that wouldn't be realistic. I hope that if you get while guiding the missile in, then it would continue going, but it becomes the tanks job to get out of the way. After all, once no one is guiding the missile it should go straight and if the tank just stays put then they're just plain dumb!

I'd hope to see that one whole team gets a solid amout of missiles every round, which is evenly split of between squads. Granted that the games last long enough - there should be enough for everybody and that way you don't run out too quick or have like 200, then you'd never finish using them all... Then a sniper could use one every 3-5 minutes. Similar to how in bf2, the artillery had to recharge after a barrage, but then the commander could use it as soon as it finished.

Because the laser designator looks like such a powerful weapon, I hope to see it as a higher unlock, but the unlocks better not be like bf2 cuz then I'm just going to say to myself 'screw it.' :|:

                      I like that idea!

I'm glad that it's also up to the sniper to steer, because at first I thought all you had to do was lock on a target, and let the missile come in and do what it does best, but that's a very nice idea to leave that up to the sniper. So now, it might be actually harder to get a direct hit on the first try! :)

Of course, the tanks will probably move to a similar rate as in bf2 and possibly all the same speed, no matter what kind of tank or what team the tank belongs to.

APCs though, should be faster, and according to the trailers and gameplay videos they are... :)

Re: What is your opinion on this?

So i started to look for the video what gives more info about the designator...

                        And i found it...

                        Look from 2:17 ->

The commentator says that "When guiding the missle in, snipers are very vulnerable" and in the video the tank driver turns the turret to the right just a bit, and get's the snipers location. Meaning a red square pops over the snipers head.

After this he says "try to get them(sniper) before they get you" And this can only mean that the bomb disappears if you get shot guiding the missle...

And in that video you can hear/see the warning tone when sniper has painted him, and there is a JDAM( :yay:) coming down on him...

I don't know about you guys, but i feel that this thing is already balanced pretty good...

@ Deflex about the missle not disappearing... Im a fan of realism too, and i agree that would be awesome... But when it comes to BF series, the primary objective has been that people has fun playing the game(atleast i see it that way)...

One more thing about the laser designator...

Im most likely gonna use it a lot to spot enemies... Either BF2/142 didn't have binoculars for the snipers to spot enemies, tanks etc... But this one finally has them(technically)... So im looking foward to play as a sniper team with someone...

True, and I agree that EA is probably going to go with that instead of what would be considered more realistic, but I think as long as it's fun, everyone will enjoy it for what it is, even though we would both like to see it the other way. :p

*Cough, Cough* Excuse me, but I believe it's a red dot...

Because later in the vid, the commentator breifly explains how the spotting system works, which I've heard is the same as in Battlefield: Modern Combat... The idea is that when you spot an enemy, a red DOT (lol) appears over their head and it won't dissappear until they drop out of sight completely...

I can't be totally positive that EA will keep this system for the Battlefield: Bad Company, but most likely they will, because I've learned from people that have played the Beta that the red DOT (lol again) system was included, but unfortunately, most Beta players say that they don't particularly like the red DOT (lol #3) system, because once you are spotted, everyone knows your location and it is hard to get out of everyone's sight... Plus now, you can just blow through anything, so even as a sniper - once you are spotted, life becomes unfair, even if you are hiding inside a building. :)

It's all coming together now! I feel like I'm going to love the balence in this game...

Oh, and I believe it's a red DOT...

I guess you weren't paying any attention to the video... The tank guy didn't use the spot thing, so no dot appeared... But square did appear...

Eh? :hmm: That was... uncalled for - I wouldn't say that I wasn't paying ANY attention to the video, as for I've seen it countless times, and didn't even bother watching, because I have it... mostly memorized I guess you could say...

lol well I'm not going to start an argument on whether it's a dot or square, but at least we both agree that it's red...
