The map has been public for less than a day, servers are only half full and most people are just jacking off or milling around, give it some time.

I don't have a mic at all. So - Shame on me.
Stamina got a kick vote straight away, I'm jealous...
lol I am still wondering if that was the dude I told to learn some German. Never mind, I still got my first Shingle gold medal.
Shingle is lagging the **** out of me on the kit selection screen, can't do anything. Tried changing settings, am now reinstalling the entire game, hopefully that'll fix my problem.
What are your PC specs? I am getting 100 FPS on Gibraltar, Shingle is giving me just 30 to 50. So it might be that it's quite resource intensive.

I played as EU and won. Squadplay involved, though.

One thing I have to say about operation shingle is that it doesn't really feel like a european town at all. Should've had a mix of the small euro houses ala cerebere and verdun, mixed with the gibraltar style box buildings.

              in my opinion :)

I get 70fps on Gib with everything maxed out save AA. That's with an AM2 6000+ dualcore, 2GB of ddr 2 800 and a 7800GS.

Shingle is working fine for me - doesn't seem any more intensive than other maps but there is a lot of geometry to render.

I just played a round as sniper for a change and yes - this map is sniper heaven. You can't take down enemies capping flags from all the high spots on the map.

Loving the downed Titan down by the bridge.

hehe i found a loading screen bug: the eu on the map are in the loading screen pac and vice versa. shingle is working fine and i love it. i just wonder why there is always such a lag on beta testing(my ping sometimes jumped till over the 1000)

Lol, I just noticed that loading screen bug.

I don't have any lag, yeah, on Wake I do, but my PC is rubbish...

The screens look very promissing, I really like Camp G so I will be having loads of fun on this map also.

How big is it? Something like Belgrade or is it smaller?

Shingle is a big map. Seems same sort of scale as Camp G maybe a touch bigger, but it's all on different levels. Towers, hills and mountains. A lot more buildings and structures. It is sniper heaven.

It might be big, but there's always something going on!
I played like 8 v 8 this morning and still there were alot of firefights.

                              Re: Operation Shingle...

The only times I heard balance complaints about the map, the scores were tipped heavily in favor of whoever was winning in terms of teamwork points and KDR! So like. The map seems balanced to me.

It's got a key difference layout wise compared to Gibraltar and that's the number of routes available to the player. Gibraltar is straightforward, 2Fort-esque and no surprises can occur. It's a very controlled scenario... Compared to Anzio (Shingle), which has numerous ways for infantry to creep forward and once they infest the complex map's main body, the number of places opening up to the attacker increase seemingly exponentially!

I like it a lot better than Wake, though the way Sir tweaked Wake to make it unique is certainly VERY COOL. Like. The EU AA Battery. It's like a true fortress! The balance in that of course being that you can snipe out the gunners of the Docked Titan with all sort of weaponry. I saw people landing Gunships in the Titan Hangar to shoot out the people on the guns. And sniper fire made it inside, too. From tanks even. All the way from the NWmost Flag.

There are a number of other maps that could be brought from 1942 that were much more fun to play though. I saw Bocage mentioned. Operation MARKET GARDEN was by far one of the cooler maps..

Anyway! I like Shingle a whole lot more than any other map for its ultra-density! It will probably be the only map that truly simulates Urban Combat by adding more access to the Z-Axis. Lots of fun. Lots of frustration, too.
