I realize I am one of only a few players, but it kind of pisses me off that they can't take the extra time to release a Mac beta. why the hell release the game for mac if you're not going to support it? Can't you run the windows version on mac with an emulator? Does performance suffer badly if you do?

You wouldn't be running it in an emulator. If you did, yes, it would be impossible to play BF2142. But Macs can run Windows natively, so there is no performance hit at all. That being said, he might not want to waste precious hard drive space / have to switch operating systems every time he wants to play video games.
