Vista, Battlefield 2 Complete Collection issues

Uninstalling and Installing. And applying patches!


I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate with all the latest updates. My problem:


I cannot apply BF2 Patch 1.41 from the dvd, and I cannot install SF or AF & EF. When I try, the installation says "Cannot find Battlefield 2, please install", or something along the lines of that.

I installed BF2 before applying my Vista updates, and yes, I'm running all the BF2 stuff in "XP SP2 Compatibility mode". I'm thinking I just need to uninstall and reinstall it, but I can't even uninstall bf2! It crashes to the desktop upon initiating the uninstall!

New Vista update lists Battlefield 2 Deluxe as one of the compatibility fixes. Info and links for download in the url below.
