    Problems connecting to servers

I've been trying to play COD4 recently (Since patch 1.5) and I haven't been able to connect, it just says Awaiting Connection...1... then goes to 10 or 11 then tells me it timed out, I've tried the /reconnect fixish thingy and nothing, can anyone give me some help?

I sometimes have to try a few times in a row before I connect.

You also might check your windows firewall or any other firewall you may have and make sure CoD4 is allowed through.

There is also a command that will increase the timeout from 10 to up to 30. I dont recall the command, but you can probably do a search on the forums for it.

What antivirus programs are you using?

I use Norton, and I have Vista if it matters.

The weird thing is sometimes I get it but usally I don't.

If it is the newer version of Norton, it has some software for Intrusion Prevention. That software tends to stop network programs from working.

What you should try, is turn ALL of norton off and run CoD4 and see what happens. If it connects, I believe there is an exlusion list for the IPS that you can use to add CoD4.

              Check that out.

I mean I don't think its a problem with anti-virus, because when I got the game and fixed the iw3mp error, it was running fine, and now it just started doing this all of a sudden. I'll try that though, see what happens.
