As the title says, i was wondering if anyone knows a decent free movie maker/editing program that doesnt suck as much as windows movie maker, maybe with just a couple of effects or something?

Windows Movie Makers is the perfect program for all ranges of skill at editing, you just have to play with it, to get the effect you like. -

Anyways, WMM isn't bad but it doesn't have all the effects needed to completely polish your video with all the glitz and glamor that more advanced programs offer. I started out using WMM, and I'd recommend it because it helps you focus on actually making a good video, not just throwing together half-decent clips and adding cool effects.
The basic effects included in WMM are mainly limited to: slow/fast-motion, blur, zoom in/out, etc. Once again, you can't do any advanced keyframing/effects but it's probably still one of the easiest/best programs for a new editor to use. After that, either add me or Sickem to your xfire and we can help you get some better programs.
I still use WMM because I don't have a good sound editor, so whenever I need to slow a sound down I put the clip in WMM as it automatically adjusts the sound for you. Trust me, while the program is pretty basic, I've still seen some pretty good videos come from it.Comment

Alright cheers.. anyway i did actually find a decent program called "Blaze Media Pro". It's pretty good it does everything imaginable from audio to video and the inbuilt video editor is brilliant, has alot of effects and stuff, although at the moment i'm trying to work out how to clip video tracks instead of trimming the rest of the video out :S
