First post for along time this one.
Been on the game for 18 months now and have recently got my first officer promotion. Things I have come to realise since those heady days as a 'newbie'.
1. There is a great amount to learn in this game; Squad tactics, commander tactics, best cover, what kit to use with each vehicle.....the list can go on. This is not a game for just joining and shooting people.
2. Taking in the fact that the learning process is continuous.
3. If you're C**P in the helo or jet then stay out of them and let the good guys take over. (I'm c**p in helo and only pretty good in jet)
4. There are ways to avoid being hit by 5 falling bombs when you are a lowley sqaudie on the ground. i.e when the flag turns neutral get out of there until the expected bombs have been dropped.
5. The best place to position yourself when taking flags isn't stood next to it. Sitting in the water fountains doesn't work!
6.Hackers are out there as are 'noobs', who are intent on spoiling the game. Leave the server a find another!
7. Admins are either a great bunch who take their server seriously or are a group of people intent on feeling good about the small amount of power they have. Leave the later server and find another!
8. Being owned is a steep learning curve, take it on the chin and learn. Being owned because a server has placed all high ranks on one team and all lower ranks on another, ask admin to make the teams fairer. No Admin? No one wishing to join the lower ranks? leave the server and find another!
9. looking at the position of arty guns if you're close by can give you an idea of where the shells are going. Straight in the air.....run like stink! Like wise, taking a flag and you hear arty in the back ground.........run like stink!
10. The knife has a range of 3 meters.
11. unlocks are not always the best.
12. Admins don't like being told that you've just watched them stats pad for 3 minutes of the game by using the commanders zoom.
13. There's always someone on an IO server with a 43+/1 kd ratio.
14. Lag sucks!
15. Ya girlfriend doesn't understand that pause doesn't work on line and interupts you because 'Mellow yellow' is being played on the TV getting you killed
16.Helos are incredibly diificult to shoot down........using the .50 cal on a vehicle really helps though. This feels great when you get the guy spawn raping the TV station in Shaqri.
17. Playing against a squad that's organised will only loose you the game if your team are doing there own things.
18. Having a multitude of snipers sitting on roof tops doesn't help the team, especially against the above mentioned organised squad.
19. Shooting a tank with your m16 only draws attention to you. If the tank turns it's turret in your direction, don't stand there continuing to unload 5.56 into it. (newbie last week with me in tank,lmao)
20. BF2 is a fantastic game that can be played on a lap top using wireless with the odd bad day of lag. Bet you couldn't do that with COD4?
