FRAPS crashing me ingame

Basically im trying to make a video and using fraps.

Now i used fraps all the time on this PC before and it never did this before....i press the record button then about 4 seconds in, the game itself goes to "not responding" then i have to do ctr alt del and end the fraps process and then the game works fine again and i just spawn bc i died can any help me

or maybe offer an alternate recording tool?

what's the specs of your pc? maybe it cant handle the load...?

could try camstudio. i got it free online but didnt really use it

If you've got windows vista service pack 1, FRAPS will crash when trying to record video with sound. Version 2.9.4 fixes this.

try not to run fraps with xfire not sure this is a big problem in 2142 but in cod4 it = major lag

If your using Fraps in a live game then it isnt odd for it to cause a lot of slow down. Use a server that has Battlefield recorder running and working correctly, then Fraps from the BFR file.

what kind of capture device do you need to record sound? I mean it says i could use my microphone but it is very very quiet i have tried it. Sound card or something?

in your traybar theres a speaker icon, double click it then go to options, select record and choose your thing in my case its What u hear

well after many hours of recording, the problem began again.

my specs are Windows Vista Home Edition Service Pack 1
- 7500 LE graphics card
- 3 GB memory
- 250 GB hard drive

and it was working before fine but now it stopped...

what processor? your video card is a bit on the weak side i think....

Duel Core, 1.86 Ghz.
