CD key problem

Hey guys and girls, I have had BF2 complete collection for awhile now and i reinstalled it the other day to play with a mate and the installation was fine. But when i tried to go online it said my CD key was wrong, all i could do was play single player.

Anyone got any ideas.

C'mon, any ideas, i really wanna play lol

But seriously, i thought that if it was the wrong key then it would have said that at the installation,

Were you trying to play vanilla BF2, SF, or one of the booster maps? What is the exact error message you get? I don't think there's really any such thing as a "wrong" key, just keys that conflict with someone already using them online, keys that have been banned, etc.

Hmm, i cant remember the exact phrase, ill try and get a picture whn i install it on my new rig if it does the same, i no i could get onto the list with the list of online games, i would go to join and i would get booted back to the single player menu, it was bf2 with the 1.41 patch cuz me and my mate installed the patch at the same time so we could log on together
