Quite a lot of ads in Germany. Last ones I can remember were SAW4 and mobile.de which is a portal for selling cars, a huge one I may add. So they most likely got some revenue from those ads. And I also agree, if that makes it possible to further develop the game, then more power to the advertisements.

If that's the main reason for the v1.50 patch coming out - because EA have managed to squeeze more revenue from the adverts - then I am definitely in favour of it.

If a gun was put to my head - I honestly couldn't tell you what one of those adverts said. Yet if that money helps fund further patches/development into 2142, then I can only consider that to be a good thing.

There maybe extra life in 2142 yet anyway. Don't forget, BF1942 made it all the way to the v1.6 patch.

well cant EA just release a parting gift for us BF2ers? like a good singleplayer 64 system ( i downloaded the 2nd version of the one already made and the bots are even stupider than the standard) and various bug fixes and nerfings. because you 2142ers get love from EA and its as if EA has left us to suffer with a game that is slowly dieing. you say we dont have problems but i think that 2142 is fine the way it is. i have only played it once on a lan server on co-op and it was fine. we have J10 problems,limited;terrible and unfair unlocks, hackers,bugs, glitches and the Expansions are DEAD. so stop complaining

Us 2142'ers get love from EA? :laugh: When BF2 got Special Forces, Armored Fury and Euro Force? All 2142 got was Northern Strike and the afterthought that was Highway Tampa.Hell, we didn't even get 'Road to Jalalabad'.

I'd love an 'officially sanctioned' version of Warlord or Ghost Town or any of the other wildly popular BF2 maps in 2142,but never got it.

I've got 200+ hours invested in each of the games, they both have their strong points and their weak points.

Both needed more attention from the developer, but the corporate types who actually control the budgets have decided the return on investment doesn't justify it.Resources like that simply aren't detailed to a mature product released to retail two plus years ago,it is too costly.


This 1.50 update is probably the remnants of the stillborn booster pack from last fall. Maybe three hastily cobbled together unfinished 'concept' (Rough idea) maps,a half *** award or two they couldn't even bother to come up with a decent sounding name for. (See 'Meritorious Infantry Combat of Merit') :laugh:

They need to un nurf the tanks, like you should be able to destroy commanders assets with a tank, and why does it take so many shots to kill an APC?

I agree tanks should be able to blow up Commander Assets. I personally think Engineer rockets and Pilum should be able too.

So many shots to kill an APC though? Seems pretty balanced there to me already... hit it in the wheels or the backside and it's gone in 2 or 3 shots. if you keep shooting it in the nose, it takes longer (don't know exactly how many shots it takes that way, I only ever shoot the front when there's no other shot to make). Seems good to me.

Two shots to the sides or back, 4 shots to the front. 2-3 if you are shooting the top...

So I removed the port block from my router and a couple of days later I have a new ingame ad. Some movie called Silent Knight or something.

Strange that the ingame ads were so easy to circumvent.

I like the ads myself, they are funny if not a bit realistic to look at. Is it THAT big of a deal to you guys? At least they dont pop up.

Don't bother me, though I haven't played in like six months :P
Last adverts I remember were for Heroes I think, not in the least bit realistic but ah well.
Be nice if the content breaths new life into 2142, seems to be dying the hard way. Sad they didn't make more of a push to make it popular, it's probably because people kept with BF2 that there have been no expansion packs and huge waits between patches.

I didn't see any Ads for over a year... Then in Feb they started popping up for me. Anyway, yes, they are still getting new ads.

My either. Then I started noticing them. The Deadliest Catch was actually a great reminder to me that it was about to come back on. They're not a big deal at all IMO.

Ya... I don't know why people are always bitching about them. Unless you have ADHD and are distracted by every little thing on the battlefield, it doesn't affect your gameplay. If you DO have ADHD and are distracted by everything, chances are you have a K/D of .5 and scream at your computer and call out H4X every time you die. Whatever :p
