Did you ask the same thing when people(including me) translated the localization files for BF2142/2?

It isn't suppose to effect the gameplay. It's suppose to make things look better.

In those games it was easy to do...

I personally modded those 'strings' file for my own language(Finnish).

But in Cod4, those .IWD files are full loading screen images, and sounds from the game. The localization files could be there somewhere, but atleast i haven't found them...

Was the "you pwned" message in the chat? If it was, it could be hack. I've seen those messages pop up when someone is hacking. It's the same thing as the Mombot message.

Only thing different in Finnish keyboards is these three: å ä ö...

And you can get colored name, but it doesn't show up right in the game. Only when you disconnect, or if someone has colored name and you check with the 'server info' who's in, then it shows up colored...

I don't see it on the picture, but a + with a bar under it usually signifies "plus or minus" for various situations - not too sure how it would be useful on the PC though.

Right. Like in presidental polls, a candidate gets 60% Approval with a +/- 3%. That's where it comes into play ^_^
