Oh snap. I just realised something you said earlier. When you said your game freezes at sending client info i suggested that it could be something to do with your Steam account. I now realise that you said that you play CoD4 through Steam and have no problems.

What i was trying to say was that with the Half Life series (CSS, 1.6, TF2, HL 1,2) you have your own specific steam id linked to that account. The VAC system that valve uses for these games uses the steamid, hence why you could play CoD4 because CoD4 doesnt use the steamid.

Get onto steam/valve and ask them what may be causing these problems with our account

But Counter Strike Source is working now, this is the weirdest thing as the other steam games are not

I would trawl either steam support of the half life forums, it definately sounds like a problem with the connection to the server, the same thing happens whenever I time out

odd that it only happens in those games, might try deleting your clientregistry blob, making sure the firewall is onboard otherwise definately steam support of the relevant forum on their website, I'm MrChris on Spuf if you see me

I have tried the clientregistry blob thing and it sometimes works, but then I get the error again. My connection to every other game is 100% even COD4 that I have through steam. Its only on HL 1 and 2 games where my steam id is applied. So I have opened a ticket and I am doing as you said, looking though the forums
