Average flyers, uber-flyers, even crap flyers - I'm happy to see them on my side - so long as they do their job. As fin says, the amount of gunships I see capturing a silo in hover just amazes me. Being a tanker primarily, I've nabbed a fair few long range shots against a hovering gunship - only to get the 2 kills for the crew, then another kill for some poor sap on his own side that got nailed by the falling wreckage.

Again, being a tanker - you just know when the opposing team has a good gunship crew as I rapidly become target Numero Uno. There have been some rounds in the past where I've simply had to stop going in the tank as I knew my life expectancy was in tens of seconds.

It also amazes me when opposing gunships simply cruise over the exposed rear of my tank and allow me to line up the perfect shot. :hmm:

What is a shame about the gunner/pilot skill issue is the fact that in reality, the gunship should perform best as a two-man operation. But the game engine itself can't handle it that well (just control a TV missile in single player and then try online. SP is as easy as shooting fish in a barrel) and a gunner has to pan around wildly to match the control inputs of the pilot.

Again, we've all had rounds where it works and both you and the other guy seem to be on the same train of thought. I'd love to bolster that communication with the addition of VoIP - but being on 1MB broadband, I'd rather save every ounce of bandwidth for better ping times. :)
