        Yes providing you allow the correct port forwarding through your firewall and from what I understand the other players have the same ports open also. (Ports 3450 UDP and TCP).

          yeah you can download custom cars. tonnes of them, too. But in the old trackmania nations, no one could see your car except for you

            In TM Forever, you have to enable port forwarding on ports 3450 UDP and TCP.

              Do I have to do that manually? Because when I first loaded up TM forever, I got the popup saying something like "trackmania is trying to connect to the internet would you like to keep blocking it or unlock?" I clicked unblock. Does that cover those ports?

                I had to access my router and do this manually, it depends on your setup, if you have a router its likely you will have to log into it and open the above ports manually, additionally if your running a firewall you will most probably need to add the ports to the exception list.

                  Ok I'll have to take a look later, then. It doesn't seem complicated, but if it's something that you have to do manually, then I wouldn't expect many people to do it.

                  The thing is, I haven't touched the ports manually, but I've already seen 2 or 3 custom cars. So maybe only the person with the car needs the ports open.
