Walker pilots - do you stand still for your AA gunner?

I try to - especially if and enemy aircraft has been spotted close by. I teamed up with a great walker pilot not long back, who pretty much stopped the instant I called up any opposing air traffic in view of the AA turret.

It made return fire SO much easier than with a target that was bobbing up and down in the sky as the walker moved. The only time he didn't keep still was when the walker was under fire itself - which is understandable!

I suppose the flip side is that it makes you a steady target for the TV missiles, so it can be a bit of a dodgy tactic - lol.

I do if I'm not under fire from something else but most times I ride the walker solo and jump to the AA when I need to. The amount of nubs that jump in the AA position and then shoot tanks whilst were getting dive bombed from above does my head in.

^^^^ - there should be a window sticker on the AA turret that says "This turret cannot harm tanks or walkers!"

That sticker should be attached to all weapons except to those that can harm armor. It's unbelievable to hide with someone that goes out and tries to blow the "at-full-health" walker with his stoopid PK rockets just to get killed in an instant. And me too.

          Very important:

When you stand still look at the ground to see possible EMP strike incoming.

Yeah, if the gunship is spotted, or even a transport. Once I hear the gunship missiles start hittin around, I'll pop the shields, crouch, and hope my AA guy is doin his job (which he usually isn't. The type of AA gunner that I usually end up with is the one trying to stir up as much dirt as possible, or is afk and jumped in just to get some walker time). I have found the best defense against gunships IS a good offense. Don't try to get away, either hope you have a good gunner or grab the AA yourself. The walker AA will knock the crap out of a gunship IF ya can get a steady aim. The one thing I have learned though is that be damn careful with the emp if the gunship is headed straight at ya in a dive.

Genius smartass? And just what do you mean by this. I was trying to give abit of useful info to folks who may not know that if you emp an incoming gunship that is barreling down on ya, they may not be able to turn away and end up ramming your walker.

i will stand still for the AA gunner if not under fire. It does make it alot easier for them to kill air targets. Sometimes i might feel generous and stand still long enough for the AA gunner to get some infantry kills. I will only do this if the infantry are not engineers. Of course all this works even better if both people are on VOIP.

Shooting the AA guns at tanks and other armor is useless, but if you aim the AA gun at certain angles you can make the EMP missles hit ground targets. It's very effective in walker vs walker fights.

No. If you see the dirt rising right away, you can hit sprint and get out before it hits. You'll only suffer minor effects rather than being immobilized.

No. A walker that isn't walking is a death man.

Even Better... When you are standing still, change camera positions so you can see ANYTHING coming

But anyway, I don't stand still for them. The AA position on top of the walker isn't very effective against aircraft, and my gunner normally tends to be a moron who is looking for a tank to shoot at :|:

are you serious? The EMP is very effective. The AA guns overheat easily but if you shoot in bursts you can easily shred gunships and put a good hurting on any transport. If the AA gunner gets a good EMP hit it can put the air vehicle right into the sights of the walker for any easy kill.

Not against any pilot worth his salt. I normally play with my clan mates, who are all CRAZY in the gunship...

I also find the AA Rorsch to be useless. The most effective AA is your teams gunship.
