    In the "Zone"!

We whinge and biatch about the game, but there are times when you feel like a one-man army. :salute: Nothing you do is wrong and everything goes your way. Used you last Pilum round? The commander's already got the supplies parachute on the way.

The SMG finds it's target everytime and seems to drop people with half the ammo. Then come the grenade throws. You know the ones. Where you couldn't bang the nade against a barn door at 10ft - yet now you throw it through the smallest of gaps and it nails the bloke taking cover behind.

Being 'in the zone' is a bit like gambling, imo. You have a bloody lucky streak and naively think it will continue into the next round. Except it normally doesn't!

Oh yeah I know how it feels. When you nail guys with a pilum from 40 meters and you're doing headshots on bunnyhoppers...

Or placing RDX at a flag, and blow it off when it gets neutralised... boom instant combat efficiency pin Pretty lame but oh how awesome.

whenever i'm in an APC driving across a big titan map and i'm in the gunner seat, i always spam the mortar shells around just on the tiny chance that i happen to randomly hit someone. it almost never happens but when i do get a kill that way it cracks me up. i have to wonder what the guy was thinking... sitting there minding his own business and suddenly a random APC mortar from a mile away takes him out, heh heh heh. that's about as close as i get to being in the zone though :)

On last Sunday morning, I had a crazy round. In the beginning, it was usual, with a few kills and death, then PAC captured EU base and Ruin. I tried to resist but I failed. That's when it begins. When most on EU team finally got back to central camp from harbor, I respawned at central camp, then fought my way to the second floor of ruin, got more than 10 kill streak and out of Baur ammo. That's when I was finally taken down. What really shines is the next spawn. This time, I sneaked my way through east side wall into an enclave. Stalked a few PAC soldiers, then fought my way into EU base. When I was capping the flag, I actually expected to be killed, but nothing happened. I capped back EU base all by my own! :yay: Then I've heard someone podded back there, so I went to investigate. Nothing, then suddenly I saw someone podding down outside the wall, and moments later, another guy podded down inside the wall and ran beneath me. He was baured, but I was low on ammo (again after another >10 kill streak. :yay: I switched to the poor lad's kit (that's why you see the Voss in my hand) and found the beacon at southeast corner. Some other EUs started to spawn at base, so I proceeded to fight around ruin and PKed another guy. The round ended when my Voss pointed at a PAC support who is not aiming at me. Damn If there's one more second!

Funny thing is that I have avoided the top player on PAC side the whole round.

I was on the BUD camp G server today. My team won 2 rounds, the last one we took every point on the map with 200 tickets to spare. So I switched to the other team like a real man would and totally kicked ***.

Our team never got to the harbor (we were on offense) but I still took the bronze medal with our uncap being attacked hard immediately. I was bested by some walker nooblet and a commander on the other team.

I only scored a 42. The next best scores on the team were in the low 20's and half the team didn't break double digits. It was a bad team but I cranked out the pwnage against the odds anyhow.

I had a 17 man kill streak inside of like 2 minutes as assault... the only way to play :P

                    P.S.

I didn't press my luck and logged off after so I could end my session on a high note.

Those rounds happen from time to time. I had a great one the other day on Cerbere - everything seemed to be going my way and my Baur was really hitting all the marks (49% acc by the end of the round, actually). Lots of standoffs that favoured my team in terms of ticket exchange ratios, and awesome squad play.

It can definitely feel really good to have a round where everything falls into place.

Oh, and I bailed from the server after that. Not only were the hacking accusations flying but I didn't feel I should push my luck. Twas probably the best round I have had in six months. :)

If I find myself outside "the zone," then I roll through a stiff rum and coke and that'll usually put me back in "the zone."

Though if I had to say that I occasionally find myself in the "lucky zone" where I get defibbed constantly, even to the point of dizziness.

                            * waiting for more people to post their 1920x1200 screenshots of score sheets where they have a significant score and good K/D *

But yeah it's strange how some days you feel like you're firing blanks and the next day you feel like you have the homing bullets unlock.

I live in the zone :P

No seriously I know what you mean. Had a round where I got a 42 infantry kill streak without hitting the floor and that just felt sweet, been off a bit though lately.
