  • For Infinity Ward!!!

    Some of us on xbox live have come up with an idea. We came up with the game type "Rescue The Hostage". Below is what we have compiled for the game type.

    A person from each team is selected at random and they are placed, tied and gagged up in the enemy spawn. They can do nothing at the start as they are tied and gagged. Then once a team member reaches them and unties them then they can talk and be given a pistol. The friendly team then has to carry the hostage back to their spawn. And all this should be done while the other members of your team are defending the opponents hostage.

      Kinda like CTF with hostages? i like it, idea has merit.

      Although i can see the chosen hostages getting a little pissed if their team suck and he/she is sitting there for an indefinite period of time.

        Kind of like a prison break meets ctf. Not a bad idea, although the talking part doesn't help in this situation. And what if the hostage gets shot? Does that team lose or does he go back to being a hostage? If he dies and that team loses, I would say it'd be best to leave your own teammate at the other spawn, not rescue him. Then, just let the other team have their guy, and shoot him. :laugh:

            There's a gametype very similar to what you described on America's Army's map "SF Hospital"

            There's no respawns in that game, which makes the "capture the hostage" a lot better.

              I got few pointers.. Since this reminds me lot of VIP game mode in Swat. Where suspects has to capture the VIP and prevent him from getting to the extraction point.

              What makes the "hostage takers" not to shoot the hostage when they spawn?

              And have you tough how much that would make the suspects to camp? And with no respawn, one lucky granade or GL could wipe the entire team(or most of them) and it would be easy for the "suspects" to win the round...

                Not so much... as the above person said about Americas Army, its easily done to do this kinda VIP like gametype.

                There are grenade launchers and snipers... and automatic rifles and everything else, in that game too. I *could* wipe out their whole team with a few carefully placed bursts of M249 fire or a grenade launcher in both games... but would that ever happen? Only if one team was having an orgy in the middle of a helipad... (SF Hospital!!) I've seen it happen. +D

                On Hospital they had the "VIP" start in between the good guys, and the bad guys, so if the VIP rushed a spot, and the team smoked the right spot... wham, they would get a nice rescue of the hostage, and some extra points. It worked very well.

                Edit: Stone! Make sure you screenshot your 1337 post count.... :P

                  You lost me after tied and gagged but my mind tends to wander at that subject, my crawl space is full...

                  Why not instead use a bot, a NPC rather then a player who would essentially be doing nothing for most of the round. And if the HT's kill the hostage, they automatically lose.

                    I have been killed to the spawn with the 3/4 of my team in Ambush. Or technically it wasn't spawn coz we moved like 2m... But someone managed to throw nade there right in the start of the map. I think he got 9 kills from it...

                    But i think this idea could work, with some tweaks and BIGGER maps... You can't really have VIP in the maps we have now... It would be better to have bigger maps..

                          Best VIP game ever- SWAT4 VIP Escort. Its flawless and provides the best breeding ground for teamwork even between the complete strangers in pubs. If COD4 would work somewhat like that, Id be down, if it was anything like CS VIP Escort... nay.

                            [offtopic]Other one what i liked a lot, was Rapid Deployment with you and you clanmates on one side, and all the rest on the others. It was really fun to coordinate attacks on heavily camped bombs in TS..[/offtopic]
