Mystery of the lost weapon

I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help me find a weapon that I'd like to try out some more.

When you get revived after being killed sometimes you end up with a weapon kit switch. One night on Karkland I ended up with a weapon that I got a few kills with but died before finding out what it was.

I believe that this was a Spec Ops weapon. It has a red dot scope. This distinguishing thing about this is that the sight is not completely round, the sides slope downwards.

I've tried all the scoped weapons in the original BF2 and the Special Forces game but haven't found a match.

I would be grateful if someone could solve this mystery for me.

Thanks a lot for your help in locating what I'm trying to find.

I've hunted down videos of the above weapons, and have also re-checked the single player weapons to make sure I haven't left anything out.

Strangely enough there may be a chance that the P90 visually fits what I remember the closest. (From what I've read however this isn't worth looking at). There also is a small possibility that the AK74 was the weapon I'm looking for. Both of these weapons can be used on the BF2 game server.

Yesterday I earned another couple weapon unlocks, and I'm saving 1 of these because I'm sure it will be a while before my next unlock.

This is what I've unlocked so far, in no particular order.

1) G36C Spec Ops (Haven't used it much lately, but I like it a lot)
2) L85 Medic (I'm using this almost all the time in spite of the quirks because I like the possibilities of the scope).
3) DAO-12 Anti Tank (I'm finding this works great in CQC)
4) Jackhammer Engineer (I guess I like this a little better than the stock weapons in CQC)
5) M95 Sniper (I haven't really got on to how to use this very well)
6) PKM Support (It seems that I miss targets a lot, but the larger clip seems to make up for this).
7) G3 Assault (I haven't used this much, I don't like the 20 rounds per clip)
8) F2000 Assault (This is a little awkward, but the gun and flashbangs are intriguing)
9) G36E Medic (When I played this on singleplayer it rocks, but with multiplayer it seems a little underpowered)

I'm hoping to find something that will help me survive a little bit better against the infantry on Karkland. I'd prefer something that is semi-auto with a scope. I'm open to suggestions. I think I'll hold out a little to make sure the unlock I end up with will be something that I'll actually use.

You have to be kidding.. The G36E is probably the most overpowered weapon in BF2 (online) and I'm sure lots of other players agree with me, but it still doesn't stop people from using it.. I use it myself. As I like to say, if its in the game, I can use it all I want despite the fact that their will be people complaining when you headshot them from across the map.

Its powerful but its not overpowered. The only retarded thing is that they gave that weapon to the medic class... They made a supportive class more effective than the assault class.

This very well could be it. I'm a little surprized that I did half decent with it, but with 50 round clips it might not be a bad alternative. I'm just surprized that I'd end up with something like this on a infantry only Karkland map.

In the other side topic; I guess I'm not the poster child for saying which weapon is the best but for me I've had better luck with the L85 over the G36E. Just last night I played almost a full round with the G36E, I saw a lot of people I was shooting at fall but at the end of the round I only had 2 kills. The firing distance was medium long, and I thought my targets were in the "accurate" sights.

Going back to a question I had in the other L85 vs G36E topic; I wonder why the weapons chart above puts the range of the G36 at 1000 and the L85 at 500? Do you have to range elevation compensate for the G36, but it still fires further?

You wont be able to use an assault rifle past 150-200 meters anyway so it doesnt really matter
