    XP 64 vs. XP 32bit

    Hey all,

Just wondering what everyone thinks of going to XP 64... I'm using 32bit and have been considering switching to 64 bit to use my 4 gigs of ram... So with regards to gameplay, transition, stability..... Is making the switch worth it?

    Asus crosshair
    4 gigs ram (using 3)
    AMD 64 X2 6000+
    8800GTS

    Thanks

The 64bit version of XP isn't well supported my manufactures. You'd be best going 64bit Vista, or staying with 32bit XP.

Right On Alex! ...especially if you want to take better advantage of 4 gigs of Ram.

I've been using xp 64 for a few years now, my only problem with it is the lack of drivers for some hardware and some software not supporting x64.
I'm installing vista premium 64bit on my next machine, I think it was cheaper than the xp version.

I've been using XP-x64 for almost a year now on my new build. So far no problems finding drivers or compatibility issues. HP even had x64 printer drivers for my printer! There was driver problem with X-fi's beta driver, but that was even fixed. MS even has occasional auto-updates for critical issues.

X64 XP also comes with some nifty features, long time since I used it but AFAIK there were some cool stuff.

I just built my new system with Vista Home Premium 64, and it just smokes!! With Fraps I am maxed out at 100 Fps (Highest Bf2 can go) with maxed out video settings...the only issue I am having in BF@ is with my Fatal1ty XFI sound card, and that is only when music is playing while game is loading. Go Vista 64, it is definately the future......

                xp 64

my take on it is this: it totally sucks, i wish i have went with vista or just stayed with xp pro. there are no drivers for it, and i cannot use my ipod with xp 64 bit. ...which is BS !
