  • how to make maps load up faster

thx in advance for answering my question

did u turn your graphics up? that might do it due to the fact it would have to load/render more textures and details. im not sure that the graphics is it though, because i have everything as high as it gets and it loads for me in about 5-7 seconds. I have the 8800gts though, but still you have the 8800gt...

Just go to the Nvidia website and click on the Drivers label near the top of the page.

Dunno if it works or not for faster map loads, but here is a trick to help your game use more ram or w/e and im sure it also dedicates more ram to the maps. For load speeds, So in Console type one of these that fits your ram.

                For 128MB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 64

                For 256MB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 128

                For 512MB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 256

                For 768MB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 384

                For 1GB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 512

                For 1.5GB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 768

                For 2GB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 1024

                For 3GB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 1536

                For 4GB

                /seta com_hunkMegs 2048
If you have more RAM than 4GB, doubtful :P, then all you do is take the amount of RAM and divide it in half ect.

Quote from a google search, seems like it does help

com_hunkMegs 512 com_hunkMegs defines how much memory the game can use for caching. By increasing this value you can make the maps load faster, especially after you have played them once. Some maps also use shared components, and having these in memory decreases loading time between maps.
Sometimes the command is stubborn and will not stick in the config so if you want it to take effect and stay working you need to open up your MP config and add it in there manually.
