    RAM Tip

I didn't actually know this would make a huge improvement... but I decided to try it the other day.

I purchased another gig of ram so that I now have 2GB Ram and it has made a HUGE difference in Battlefield 2. Maps load so much faster and there is absolutely no lag like there was with only 1GB Ram.

I highly recommend upgrading to 2GB Ram if you haven't already done so.

Yes, that is very true. You can't play BF2 on all high without ATLEAST 1.5gb of RAM, on XP. On Vista, you must have 2GB. On almost every map in BF2, it will use about 1gb - 1.1gb of RAM. Sometimes on the bigger maps like Fushee pass, or Dragon valley, it can use 1.4gb (with all high settings).

And the good thing is, RAM is so cheap nowadays. You can pick up a gig of PC5300 677mhz RAM for like $15 - $20. You can even get a gig of PC6400 800mhz for like $30

That is sooo true! I love loading maps inside of 15 seconds, and lag is no longer a worry. It makes a big difference when BF2 is played with enough resources. I remember the days of struggling with 1 gig, and to anyone that is, by getting another, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor. :yay:
