I don't understand the persistent kamikazi pilots

Am I missing something here? I went on a Highway Tampa titan map last night (as PAC) and was just amazed at the same guy on the EU flying straight into any form of PAC armour.

He got me three times during the round (which the shield SHOULD STOP, FFS! ) but missed a further four times when I side-stepped out of the way.

By the time we had captured Silo 2 to the north and getting ready for the push to the EU titan, he was dive-bombing for fun. A combination of the walker AA and the AA turret at silo 2 held him off a few times, but he still managed to get through occasionally.

What made it worse, was the fact that he could fly properly - not just some n00b who had no idea what he was doing. I watched him in the gunship and he could move well - so why not just attack with the rockets instead?

He never bailed (I always got the credit for his kill when he flew into me) but in turn, I died. He finished the round at 3-24 K/D ratio. Why, why, why?!

Is there some Banzai Pin that I've yet to hear of?

maybe a new sp4rt4n`1170 . that guy( he is from the forum) plays sometimes but he thinks this game is to easy and tries other ways to get a kill( eg camikaze)

Some people just are dumb (or really really bored) and there's nothing you can do about it...

In say, a titan ladder game where deaths don't really count, a dedicated rammer can cause all sorts of carnage for the enemy. Provided it's all in the rules which in general it is, it's a great tactic.

In ranked though? What's the point?

Our server does have this against the rules. "No ramming aircraft into other aircraft or land vehicles"

Wow. I ram sometimes as a last ditch effort (mostly bc I suck at landing transport), but I would never spend a whole round attempting to do just that! I think it can sometimes be used to your advantage, but it definitely shouldn't be used as a primary form of attack.

It seems to have gotten worse lately. I can barely go into a game without someone flying a dropship up my @ss. It's lame, it's cheap, and it's annoying. If you have to resort to ramming because you can't shoot a gun, then perhaps you should switch to something a little easier, like Checkers or a coloring book.

I know they're going for "realism" in the Battlefield series, but I think EA should adopt the approach LucasArts had in the Battlefront series. Basically, when two airships collided, unless they hit head-to-head, only the ship whose 'head' or 'face' collided with the other ship would explode and die, the other wouldn't suffer any damage. So if you took your X-Wing and rammed into the side of a Tie Fighter, only you would die.
