  • Optimizing Shaders on every load...

Every time I load up Battlefield 2142, it has to optimize shaders before I can play. I don't change the graphic settings but I have experimented before with the different settings to see if it'll stop doing it. Nope. However, once it goes through it I can load up each board fine... until I close the game and reopen. The it's optimize time again.

    Any clues?

    CPU: 2.8 Ghz Pent D

maybe your cashe files get deleted after you play. try making them read only(you cant switch settings then will lead to a crash) but at least you dont have that problem. play a round or so on bf and then alt tab out of the game. go to the cashe folder(sorry forgot where it is) and then make it read only.

Does it actually load slow? I used to have that problem where it said it was optimizing shaders but it actually wasn't.
