Problem With Vista/Computer?

Hey everyone,
Thanks for looking into this. I tried installing Bf2 onto a realitives computer (Acer Aspire M5630 with Windows Vista Home Premium OS) and nothing went wrong. In fact everything was great...except about 10 minutes in the computer shuts down completly, for no apparant reason. I have rebooted the computer and tried online and single player, same results. The only linear thing about this problem is that it shuts down after I have elasped around 10 minutes of gameplay...
I think the problem is with Vista and not the computer, as when the computer shuts down, the screen fades to black, rather than just blacking out instantaneously. I installed the 1.41 patch to see if it would help, and it still had the same results :|:. No the computer is not overheating, no it really has nothing to do with my internet connection, and yes this is probably an easy-to-solve problem, but any insight will help me, THANKS!

Post the full system specs, and i wish people would stop blaming Vista on everything., likely chances are that the computer is not even compatible with Vista. ie the hardware is not upto date with it or there is insufficient drivers installed to support Vista.

When a system shuts down that is a usual sign of something gone wrong with a piece of hardware and shutting down the computer is a safety feature.

goto, start, control panel (classic view) admin tools, even viewer, and go through the list, expand critical and error logs ans see what caused the crash and then post that error back here,

Also, another thing to do is stop the computer from rebotting and then, when it wants to reboot it cant and a BSOD will pappear, when this is the case write downt he error message and post here.

To disbale to auto computer shutdown follow:

start, right click my comp, properties, advanced, settings (under startup & recovery) and untick auto restart.

EDIT: Is this the PC?

Make sure you have all the latest drivers for your hardware, your mobo drivers, sound drivers, gfx drivers, and all the Vista Hotfixes.

Turns out my grapics card is overheating. Any help for that? If it helps its a ATI radeon hd 2400 pro, which sucks, but provides ample graphics for the 10 minutes it works on Bf2 for me... gah.

The first thing you could do is clean it and leave the case open. Also you could try out tools to turn up your fan, like RivaTuner.

Also you could buy casefans. The best are always two low spinning papst 120mm fans, one at the front and another at the rear so you have a silent, but efficient flow.

^^exactly.. riva tuner is a great tool... also buy some more 80 or 120mm fans for ur case.. one of my 80mm fans burnt out once increasing my gpu temps by about 5 degrees.. which is alot.. so go to ur local pc shop and pick up some decent fans and just screw them into the case... if all the spots already have fans already then get out the hole saw and drill trust me its worth it.. and also make sure all existing fans are working.. u should have atleast two intakes (front/side) and one exhaust fan (back).. atleast :)

Ati cards sometimes have fan speed issues. Try using ati tool, and adjust the fan speed so it runs faster at hotter temperatures.

Do what is mentioned above but do not leave the side of the case open as this will cause more problems.

If your still having issues after you have cleaned up the fans and heatsinks of dust and got the fans installed in your case to move more air, have a look at buying an aftermarket cooler for the gfx card.
