    Multiple PC's behind Linksys WRT54G ver.7 won't work

Hope somebody can help out there.

I have multiple pc's behind a linksys router (wrt54g ver.7) two official cod 4 games and we can not get on the same server together. I have tried port forwarding on on pc on two pc's however still no chance.

does anyone have an idea ??

One of my clan mates had this problem at home. He had to change the default port that the game uses (28960) on one of the PC's. After that, he and his wife were both able to play.

I'll ask him specifically and see what he says.

In the meantime, I put COD4 how change port into Google and found these two, which seem reasonable and probably the answer:

        long link

Seems like it's the seta net_port command, which you can change in either the mp_config.cfg file, or through the desktop shortcut.

Here's what my clan-mate sent me back: "I added +set net_port to the end of the target for the short cut. Since most of the time I join through Xfire I also added that to the extra command line parameters space for COD 4. You find that under options then click on the games tab then select COD 4."

Just one PC. Let one connect with the "default" port, and just change it on the other PC. You only have to make sure the port #'s are different between the two.
