8600 gt TERRIBLE FPS on BF2

A few months ago, I purchased a 8600gt OC (100$ lol) to replace my 7300gt. Ive noticed since ive bought the card that my fps on battlefield 2 has been significantly lower than on my previous cards. I remember gettings into the 100's with my 7300 gt and now with my 8600gt I can go into the 30s and 20

Ive tried clearing the bf2 cache
    Defraging my drive
Deleting the drivers with Driver Cleaner Pro
    Reinstalling the latest drivers.

On COD4, my fps is better with high graphics with 32 people in a map the size half a bf2 base (50-90fps)

Can you post the rest of your specs?
Also beware, the latest drivers aren't always the best. I use a 8600m GT on my laptop and get 30 to 70 fps on mostly high settings, 1440*800. Did you really get 100 fps with a 7300gt?????

      Windows Xp
      Amd Sempron 3500+
      2 gigs pc3200 ram
      256 mb 8600 gt Oc

If all games were running poorly on the 8600, it would make sense, but its only bf2

IT wouldnt average at 100 but it got there at times for sure.

the 8600gt is not a great card but it should be better than the 7300. I don't know what else to say other than it sucks you can't play bf2 with decent fps. If your 8600 is overclocked does it make any difference running it without overclocking? bf2 is sensitive to oc.

Have you tried the Omega drivers? I use them on my GTS to good effect. BF2 would stutter at times with the Nvidia drivers.

Could be the overclock im not sure, I dont know the card came overclocked

Maybe ill give those drivers a try.

Tried "underclocking" the graphics card and installing the new drivers but it didnt work

Tried uninstalling the game and still no difference in fps

what resolution and settings do you play at with your 8600gt? also in the nvidia control panel you can move a slider from 'performance' to 'appeareance' or something along those lines, have you tried that?
