    symantec endpoint incompatibility

I have vista intstalled with symantec endpoint antivirus protection. Everytime I play bf2 (and 2142) a "tamper protection alert" goes off and keeps going off as I play. This makes bf2 hesitate every 2 to 3 sections making it virtually unplayable.

I've tried disabling the software temporarily and the alert still goes off.

Anyone have this problem and know how to solve it?

    Thanks much:yay:

Consider turning off Tamper Protection. Or use something else as Scinto suggested.

It's a known issue with SAV

Symantec is horrible unless your using the Corporate edition and even then you need to turn it off when you game.

Any anti-virus you run should be disabled when gaming.

                Re: symantec endpoint incompatibility

No luck yet solving this problem. Some more information:

                - no problems playing other games

                - ping reported by battlefield server never fluctuates with problem (eg when the stuttering is at its worst my ping still reads in the low 30s)

                - problem most but not all of the time, occasionally its smooth sailing. Perhaps it has to do with BF2 contacting the EA server?

                - stuttering gets worse when theres alot of activity about

                - even when I disable symantec enpoint, I still get the delays

                Advice much appreciated.
