There's really no point in downloading them all - some are only in use on a few servers (and some are not very well done). Most servers have re-direct set up as well, which will download the map for you when you try to join the server.

aah so its like TF2. That will work, thanks. Now for patches. Do i only need the latest or do i have do download all of them. Either way, an official site would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

You need 1.4 and 1.5 patches. 1.4 has an added map that I dont think they included in 1.5.

COD4 doesn't really have a single main site, especially for downloads...they farm out these downloads to different mirror sites, so that it can have wider distribution and faster downloads. The TGN servers used by this forum are quite fast for most people.

just start up MP, select Auto Update, follow the steps. Took me maybe 2 minutes to get fully patched.

haha you call that a map? it s the bigest crap i have ever seen it s so funny some ppl still have it on ther servers like it s olmoste summer and ppl are playing chiristmas map xD

I don't mind that christmas crash map myself..actually i enjoy it quite a bit..and so do many other people. I see servers with that map on 24/7 and there usually doing pretty good at staying at capacity or close to it.

Winter Crash was my favorite map for quite some time... it was a nice change in setting and actually gave the map a new feel.

If you mean gaining XP and climbing more quickly in rank, then try to play more of the objective-mode game-types (Headquarters, Sabotage, Domination, Search&Destroy)...they give you more things to do, and by doing those things, more ways to gain XP, other than just shooting enemies. Be sure to be active in helping to capture and hold HQ's, setting bombs, killing bomb carriers, grabbing and moving a bomb briefcase around yourself, holding a flag, capturing a flag, etc.

Some of these objective-mode servers are set to run for a long time or high frag/point limit, in which case the end-of-match XP bonus can be quite high.

i play a lot of S&D, but if u do play be careful! i find if u do wat whiskey said, and play the right way, u could end up with a good one thousand points! (depending on the server settings that is!)
