Do not know about anyone else. But always, I let the opposing team get off the titan with ease after they blow the core, to earn their "Titan Survival Pin" I have many, but that pin is not easy to get. Some really struggle to get it. When I see them running to the exit, I back off, lay low, but they never make it due to friendlies nipping them off at the exit, or some do.

It's just poor losers - getting a few easy kills at the end of the round. Those that apm the exits are particularly despicable.

That said, I sometimes shoot people fleeing my once pristine Titan. Tis only fair. Most of the time I will go to the core room and go down with the ship. A nice quick death :laugh:

I am usually Titan attack not defense so it's not something I get to do often.

i sometimes let them go.... it depends if they just got a lucky shot on the reactor, but if they have been slaughtering my team the entire game, i kill them.

Just take a Transport and mow them down as they hit the ground - candy for both sides :p

Then I guess that I am that particularly despicable, poor loser that put APMs on exists of exploding Titans just to get some sour revenge and cheap kills. :p

I mean, why not? I got blown by APM while fleeing exploding enemy Titan as well.

If that's bad ethics, then I'll put mines and RDX on the ground so that they'll still get blown up but can get the pin.

no pins for them , if i only can i park transport on back of the titan, if im with pals we have also gunship or two here, we are proud than most times NOONE get the pin, at last its our last bonus for lost game :laugh:

To get the titan survival pin, all you have to do is be on the enemy titan when it goes poof (that includes the back deck, or at least it used to), then jump off and land safely. You don't have to be the one who blew the core, and the core doesn't even have to be assaulted to get one - if you're on board when missiles finish the job, jump off, land, 10 points.

Having said that, since it's such an easy pin to get, I feel it's my duty as a BF2142 player to make them WORK for it. I count every person killed prior to leaving the titan as a mini-victory. Sort of an 'if I'm going down I'm taking you with me' kind of thing.

And yes, I'm a bastard.

You have to be on the titan before it blows up. Anywhere, including the sides work. I have gotten pins without ever even being inside the titan. And yes, I kill all of them I can. I've been killed plenty of times fleeing an exploding titan and that's just part of the game.

I've flown a gunship OVER the titan when it blew up, bailed out and landed on the giant building NEXT TO the titan (you know... Eu Titan, Suez Canal) and got the pin. I never touched the titan or the ground :p That pin is EXTREMELY liberal. Another time I podded up with an APC, the titan blew up while my pod was over the titan so I just flew right over it and landed on the ground, Soldier you deserve an award!

To me, EA could just have the round end when the core is detonated. Instead there's a significant delay, and you get that pin only after you've run out of the Titan, jumped down, and safely landed on the ground.
Like Fin said, that pin is quite liberal, so that adds to the fact that just because you destroyed the core, doesn't automatically entitle you to it.
You need to work your way out of the Titan.
For me, I have no issue whatsoever killing enemies running out of my Titan.

Oooooh ooooh, so well said. That's the attitude. Why do we let them leave and get an extra 10 points?
We, in the Titan about to have its guts blown up, are under NO obligation to let the enemy walk out of our Titan without a fight.
