Download Tampa map won't go away

Hey all

I have installed the Tampa map about 5 times now, and still every time I start BF2 I get the Dialog telling to to download the map. The Map installer always says it was successfully installed.

Any advice?

It doesn't go away, its a pop-up advertisement window from EA. I think you can just bypass it by clicking on multiplayer, bfhq, or whatever.

True, as Signa said. It won't go away. It is the announcement window.

ok, thanks all. I figured the game was "smart" enough to detect whether it was installed or not.

Reminds me of my godbrother. He was playing WOW until I made him get bf2. He calls me months later and complains that there are only 5 servers. See, he assumed that the game auto-installed patches. Poor kid had no idea.

lol. Actually speaking for just myself, I've been playing BF1942 for years, so I know how they are about the patches being manual. BUt I figured it would still be smart enough to know it had a map installed to decide whether or not to show you the 'download the map' dialog.

That's kind of Programming 101, IF ELSE type stuff. :)
