Possible patch problem?

Ok, so I have BF2 installed to my E: drive, not default, but its the bigger partition. I downloaded the 1.41 patch, and it seems like everything is going good, gets done, says patch installed, and i start up BF and the top right says I'm still in 1.1? Does it need to be installed to default dir? Maybe I'm just missing something here.

i had that problem at first and what i did was i opened my battlefield 2 file and it automatically updated the patch after i downloaded it
