always wanted to know this but never asked. how come people on these youtube videos have diferent textures in bf2 on tanks and troops etc? is it just a skin mod for single player or is it a mod that can be used on multiplayer servers?

im wondering if everyone has these nicer skins and i cant see them cos ive not got them installed.cheers

it's mods. Check out the mods section in the forum

You can not as of now change any skins in BF2 without the use of mods, which disables ranked play. Take that as a final answer.
