    xbox controller support?

I have alot of buddies that have cod4 for XBOX and they have no idea how to use a mouse/keyboard so i really wanted to get the xbox controller working so that they could use it when they were over.

Ive been told there is no support @ this time and the only other thing i came up with is the Xpadder program witch is cool but does not have full rang movment on the sticks.. (sticks can only move up,down, left, right not sweep) so u can tell right away something is wrong doesnt feel anything like xbox

Anyone know of a real deal program that allows xbox controller support?

I hope they have thick-skin, they'll get completely owned online, you understand. :)

no kidding when I started playing COD on an Xbox after literally YEARS of gaming on the PC I found myself saying "if only I had a mouse" a little too often.

ohh 100%.... they watched me play for 2 min and totally understood the mouse/keyboard setup is the way to go 10X faster/more accurate but to there defense im really surprised how fast they are with that stupid controller lol

Dairuka - the free prog and the one that clost 20 bucks, is doing the same thing that Xpadder is for free. simply emulating keys on your keyboard with gives the sticks a messed up feel you dont have the full rang of motion that you should. I really dont know how any1 is using thos programs b/c u can feel the difference in 2 seconds. thanks for the effort tho

When I played COD4 on the PS3, I couldn't get a SINGLE kill. Im not kidding. I do pretty damn well on shooters on the PC, but using those two analogue sticks just made me feel crippled. I have respect for those who can actually use the damn things for shooting games.

Driving games on the other hand, are great with a controller.

At the COD4 "First to Play" event in Hollywood this past summer, I watched some "pro" Xbox360 gamers take a spin with this game. I was very impressed with what they could do and how well they could play using the analog sticks.

It's a specific skill-set, and if you put an equally skilled Xbox360 player vs PC player, I have no doubt the PC player will have more success due to the more accurate mouse/kybd control system...but just within the 360 world itself, what some of them can do is really impressive.

If you wanna hook up an XboX controller here is a site that had the drivers I use one myself for racing games. http://www.redcl0ud.com/xbcd.html

And here is the info on how to make it USB. http://www.fury-tech.com/en/Guides/X...Conversion-Mod

For those still wondering about this, seems XFire has a built-in app: http://www.xfire.com/cms/xf_switchblade/

                    Add to wiki someone?

Wow, didn't even know about this. :)

I don't play with a controller but sometimes it helps when casting matches in 3rd perspective.

I have no doubt that of 2 equally skilled people, the one with the controller would lose, even with sticky aim or w/e.

I agree. But apps like this are nice for people who are used to Console controllers, and either don't play PC enough or want to invest the time to adjust to kybd/mouse. If they just want to play to have fun and don't really care about their score (or want to enjoy SP modes), then this is a nice option, IMO. :)
