How big would you say the maps are in BF2?

I am doing a research project and I was just wondering what the average square mileage is of the original maps (Gulf of Oman in particular). If you got this info on the web could you link it as well? Thanks.

The largest map size you can make IIRC is 4x4 kilometers. DiCE didn't want to push people's computers too much so the largest (Wake, Oman, FuShe) are only 2x2.

Indeed, it's somewhere between 16km2 and 10km2. Increasing that would make loading-times a lot higher.

Negative. 16 square KM is 4x4 or 2x8 or 1x16. 16KM squared is 256. Don't try to argue this. :shakehead
