Do Jet planes lock on?

it may sound nooby but ive noticed when jets are chasing me there missiles follow me everywhere. But when i shoot one at someone they just go straight forward o.O?

You have to wait a few seconds before your missiles lock on to other jets.

J10 - best
mig
f18
f35 - worst

The 2 middle ones are debatable which is best they are very similar. The missiles lock onto j10 the worst. To get missiles to hit, on a turning jet you must lead the gun point in your jet and the missiles should hit.

i prefer mig but i felt the f18 or 15 i dunno which... the fighter was stronger. But your probily more of a jet expert than me... i know a fair bit about jets but not too good with the flying lol.
However mig is very large so i found it easy to kill.

It's only better from the "missile not hitting" point of view. Other than that f18 is crap. Mig has a better turn radius and can chase and gun f18 down. It might take a long time though depending on F18 pilot's skill

True true, I hate the F18 more than anything, but as it's really hard to hit it could sometimes be an advantage.
