2142 no longer working

I recently installed a new 8800GT. Because the card is so long I was forced to change which port my hard drive was plugged into on my motherboard. All my other games still work fine except 2142. I have tried re-installing, deleting my cache, re-installing punkbuster, deleting registry, latest drivers, patches etc etc.

It has been months since I could play. I am getting very frustrated especially considering everything else runs fine. I click the shortcut, the screen turns black and looks as if it is going to load, then goes straight back to desktop.

Any help would be much appriciated!

Try reformatting and reinstalling windows.

This happened to me sometime ago

The problem is the installation of your new card. check the video.con settings in your BF profiles directory and you should see a line which sets your screen resolution

set this to 800x600 - this should get you into the game and then you can set your gfx to however you want.

Thanks for the help here. Let me add to it, though. When you do change the video.con file, make sure you set 60Hz for e refresh rate right next to the resolution.
