I started another solder, so I play without unlocks. I think the hardest class without unlock is, err, recon. The stock rifle is awesome if you have 3x unlock. If you don't, LMG can out-shoot you half of the time. While some are extremely good snipers, I'm not one of them, and I don't blame my very crappy HP mouse that freezes movement ocassionally. Yes, I suck at sniping, there I said it, but last round I played recon with only RDX unlock I still managed to get one infiltrator pin. If I have had not all my personal unlock, then I wouldn't be able to get all the knife kills, which is more than rifle kills. It makes me wonder how a dedicated recon player will come through initially without getting slaughtered? Once APM and RDX are unlocked, things changed in favor of recon, but that's another story.
Assault is probably the easiest to play without unlock. One only needs to learn crouch, scope and shoot in burst to win half of the engagement, and then heals himself. Support is a bit harder, but if one has grenade unlock, that's another story. Some people thinks engineer is hard, but in fact the pea shooters and the one-shot-kill rockets are very deadly if used right. SMGs are the best run-gun in this game.
Newbies will usually get slaughtered no matter what class they prefer, so this thread is probably not very useful for newbies.
BTW, recently I gradually grow a hatred towards people carrying Clark. It means that they also have man scanners and know someone's on their back. I lost count how many times I sneaked to their back and only got 180 turn panic shotgun slug in my face. In this respect, Ghost and Herzog start to make sense.
